In this aspect, hardware (ie light-dependent resistors, flash and eeprom chips, etc) affects the gameplay in some predefined way. EEPROM is used to represent armor, and as the EEPROM is hit and fills up, so the player loses HP. An LDR or phototransistor may be used to sample light luminosity and that value sent to the server for use in scanning and detecting enemies.
